Unpocket is an independent smart-wearables review site. Our premise is in the name: the best wearable is one that lets you leave your phone in your pocket. We cover smart glasses, smartwatches, smart rings, and fitness trackers, and we write for people deciding what to actually buy.
Who writes Unpocket
Daniel Reeve — Smart Glasses & AR Editor. Daniel leads our smart-glasses and AR coverage. He focuses on the questions buyers actually ask: does the HUD help or distract, how does it handle a real prescription, and what is the privacy cost of a camera on your face.
Priya Nair — Health & Fitness Wearables Editor. Priya leads our smartwatch, smart-ring, and fitness-tracker coverage. She focuses on the gap between what a spec sheet promises and what the sensors deliver day to day — battery claims, sleep accuracy, and the creeping cost of subscription tiers.
Our editorial standards
- Honest sourcing, labeled. Every claim is tagged as hands-on (verified), brand-supplied, or needs independent verification. We never dress up a spec sheet as a hands-on test.
- No invented scores. If we have not physically tested a device, we do not publish a rating. Our launch-week guides say plainly what we do and do not yet know, and we update them as we get hands-on time.
- Affiliate transparency. Some links earn us a commission at no cost to you. Commissions never influence our recommendations or rankings. See our affiliate disclosure.
- We keep guides fresh. Buying guides are dated and updated as products, prices, and firmware change.
How we test
Our full methodology — including how we handle devices we have not yet bought — is on our How We Test page.
